No matter how shiny this day was during the holiday it was freezing down to the gorge at 8am, the 30th October 2011. Because we had a remarkable speed we reached Voidomatis springs at 12.30 already. There "alia jacta est”, instead of climbing up and finishing at Vitsiko, we decided to walk up for another two and a half hours to reach Papigko, at a distance of 14 km from Monodendri where we started.

Eight-year-old Damianos followed us without uttering a complaint. Our destination became the central spot in Papigko where we had two dishes each! Well being and joy, traditional Zagori pies and mushrooms, perfect guides at the Info point of the National Park of Northern Pindos, brochures, diplomas of successful crossing, commemorative t-shirts and local cranberry liquor – called krano – new friendships, experience exchange, contact information exchange, promises to return.

This personal as well as team attainment came true through the ideas scheduled for 2011, biodiversity and mutual understanding. We just hope that this crossing made everyone see with a different point of view and that we all discovered the lost joy of walking in nature!

The land beyond, we are unstoppable!
