4th Panhellenic Inter-Book-Club Meeting of Reading Clubs

Reading clubs from all over Greece honored this year’s gathering in Ioannina. It is no exaggeration to say that they flocked to the Dimitrios Chatzis Cultural Center on the afternoon of Saturday, 6 December, and the morning of Sunday, 7 December 2025, where authors and a book-loving audience enjoyed two rich four-hour sessions of presentations and discussions. The six guest authors (Ch. Gkezos, V. Gkouroyiannis, M. Makropoulos, S. Dimitriou, I. Karyotakis, and D. Louka) honoured us with their presence and their company both in the hall and during the breaks, where they signed and dedicated copies of their books.

The Land Beyond headed the organization along with the association Friends of The Land Beyond and the The Land Beyond Reading Club. Along with the heads of the Reading Clubs of the Coordinating Council and the Ioannina Reading Club "The Readers of Our Small Town,” we can be proud of this two/three-day event in Ioannina, which left the very best impressions on everyone and proved perfectly aligned both with the theme of the meeting and with the title of Michalis Ghanas’s poem "Yialina Yiannena” as well as with the title of the opening keynote by university professor Kostas Karavidas, "Translucent Citizenship and Borderland Prose.”

The 5th Inter-Book-Club Meeting will take place in December 2025 in Athens, hosted by the Ilioupoli Reading Club.

The event was held under the auspices and with funding from the Ministry of Culture; under the auspices and with the support of the Municipality of Ioannina; with the support of the Region of Epirus; and with sponsorship from the company Graphic Arts Papalexandrou.
