The five-day Erasmus+ mobility titled "Educating for a Sustainable Future” took place in Seville, Spain, from 9–14 February, with the participation of eight representatives from four environmental organizations in Greece and hosted by the Erasmus Center Seville. "The Land Beyond” was represented by Damianos Giannis, a student of Architecture and Urban Planning and a Youth Climate Ambassador of the European Climate Pact (YCA).
The programme included an introduction to key concepts such as climate adaptation and climate mitigation, a walking tour exploring the city and its history, an interactive knowledge quiz and a role-based debate (scientist, politician, farmer, activist, etc.). It also featured case study presentations on global and local environmental challenges, such as bottom trawling and Posidonia seagrass meadows.
The debate activities and group case studies stood out for their participatory nature, fostering dialogue and helping participants better understand the complexity of climate change. Participants were mobilized, exchanged experiences, built connections, and strengthened cooperation between Greek and Spanish organizations. The experience highlighted the importance of the quality of the hosting organization, as well as the need for educational seminars on climate change to conclude with a clear message of empowerment: "Activism matters. We can meaningfully contribute to change and mental resilience is a key element in addressing such a complex and demanding issue.”
