The overall objective of the GLAP seminar series is to advance international peace and security, sustainable development, fundamental human rights and good governance by formulating a curriculum of key principles and practices for global citizenship and education, especially for young people around the world. By bringing together the relevant communities of experts, officials and activists from across Europe and beyond, and by enabling them to jointly consider concepts and means of optimal political organization, the seminar aspires to draw conclusions to the benefit of citizens worldwide, for more legitimate and effective governance at all levels. GLAP seminars are usually collaborations with other organizations and take place for a duration of 5 days.

The purpose of the meeting was to contribute to the emergence of the hitherto dubious nature of the rights to the natural environment in terms of international law, as a right of the global citizen, especially in the light of climate change and the international effort to address it.
30.07-04.08.2016
The topic of this year is inspired by the rising populism and nationalism in Europe and the USA, the recent decisions in the UN, and the historic decision of Paris to stem climate change.
25-30.07.2015
The international cosmopolitan peripatetic seminar had the goal: to advance global citizen education through school curricula and civic action around the world with a view to promoting sustainable development.
02-07.08.2014
The main goal was to explore ways of building global citizenship in consciousness and in action, and of using it to address today’s impasses in democratic governance, sustainability, peace and security.
